Everything in life has a rhythm! From brushing your teeth, to evening routines, to work ethic and social circles. Dance Movement Psychotherapy focuses on the “dance of life” as the mode of investigation. Together we become curious of your daily rhythms and embodied movements to shed light on your inner truth. This therapy moves away from spoken language and into the non-verbal and creative space as its primary focus. However, with verbal capacity there will be added layers of deeper meaning when we use language to unpack what the soul has revealed non-verbally.

What does a movement Psychotherapy session entail?

Movement therapy establishes a creative journey of moving, talking and playing together. We use movement, art, music, mindfulness and play to explore what the subconscious wants to reveal. Together we co-create a language of movement, the language of the soul. This language is then unpacked through analysis and psychotherapeutic assessments. This is a client centred practice where the client is the leader and I as the therapist offer support, encourage curiosity and inspire necessary change. Please note this is not a dance class where we practice posture and routines. This is a safe space where a dance performance is NOT the end goal. There is movement to be analysed in everything we do. The way we sit, speak or even draw. That’s the movement we use here…

Come with an open heart! There is no past experience of ANYTHING needed here. You, your shadow, your history and your present self are so welcome!
